Parmenter is the conscience of her community--the inspiration behind numerous charitable efforts. She founded Adopt-a-Family, which gives holiday gifts to needy families, and is a dedicated volunteer and fund-raiser for many groups, including the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer's Association, and the Women's Resource Center.
