FPC training is held in person at Advocacy Week every other year. The next in-person FPC training is planned for 2027.
All FPCs, both new and veteran, were required to attend the FPC Training during the 2025 Advocacy Week event, January 22-25, 2025 to fulfill the obligations of their Pledge to serve.
New Federal Political Coordinators
The Advocacy Week jumpstarted the FPC Advocacy Academy for the 119th Congress, a training program that turned REALTORS® freshly appointed as FPCs into savvy grassroots political advocates for NAR. The program trained participants to master the methods behind creating and fostering long-term relationships with elected officials.
Over the course of the program’s seven sessions (a mix of webinars and in-person training), participants significantly improved their comfortability in meeting with members of Congress and advocating on behalf of the REALTOR® Party.
Training during Advocacy Week included the nuts and bolts of being an FPC, how to build your FPC team, a legislative and economic outlook with NAR staff and an overview of the most important NAR resources to achieving success in the role.
Veteran Federal Political Coordinators
Advocacy Week also provided a deep dive into continued education for our best and brightest, the veteran FPCs. During Advocacy Week, we provided behind the scenes intel from those most close to the political happenings in Washington, D.C. Veteran FPCs engaged in interactive training, heard from serious keynote speakers, learned new strategies and tactics for communicating with their legislators, focused on how legislators become REALTOR® champions, and shared success stories with colleagues on regularly hitting the mark in the FPC role.
