Overview

The NAR Global Ambassador Program is comprised of U.S.-based NAR members appointed by the NAR President to serve as his or her liaison to real estate professionals in their assigned countries and/or region. There are two roles in the Global Ambassador Program – Global Ambassador and Global Coordinator, which work to help maintain NAR's relationships with international real estate associations and organizations.

NAR members appointed to the Global Ambassador Program are also members of the NAR Global Alliances Advisory Board (GAAB) committee and serve in their role for a four-year term. Global Coordinators are also members of the NAR Global Business and Alliances (GBA) committee. Role descriptions for each are provided in the Related Content section below.

Global Ambassador Program Objectives

The objectives of the Global Ambassador Program are built upon the foundation set by NAR Global’s vision and mission, goals, and current strategic initiatives.

  • Promote ethical real estate practices and the REALTOR® network and value through International REALTOR® Membership (IRM).
  • Help NAR’s bilateral partners implement best practices utilizing NAR tools, products and services.
  • Help NAR’s bilateral partners understand their partnerships with NAR and to assist them as it relates to the partnership.
  • Maximize engagement between NAR and its bilateral partners and assess their ability and willingness to work with NAR.
  • Act as a resource to NAR’s members – both domestic and international.

Countries and Bilateral Partners

NAR Ambassador Countries

The Ambassador Program members are appointed to support country groupings where NAR has bilateral partners. There are six regions, each with one appointed Global Coordinator. Within each region are country groupings, each with one appointed Global Ambassador. Additional information on country groupings and regions can be found in the Frequently Asked Questions.

NAR Bilateral Partners

NAR bilateral partners are formal partnerships with over 100 real estate associations in over 75 countries outside of the U.S. who share the same understanding of the real estate market, its developments, and short-and long-term goals to serve its respective members. They also have a complimentary Code of Ethics to NAR to ensure dedication to professionalism. The list of partners can include various types of organizations, from regional network associations and federations to private industry alliances. Contact information for NAR bilateral partners by country can be found on the Global Alliances Directory.

Bilateral partners have the opportunity to join the NAR Ambassador Association program, which provides a direct connection to NAR through a U.S. state or local association. Learn more about the Ambassador Association program.
