William S. Chee was elected the youngest National Association of REALTORS® president in history. He obtained his real estate's salesman license in 1965 at the age of 20 and his broker's license in 1969.
Mr. Chee served on the board of directors of Home Financial Services, Hawaii National Bank, and CB Commercial Group Hawaii and has been active on numerous NAR committees, including serving as chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee and the Convention Committee. He served as a national director since 1976, and in 1987 served as a regional vice president for the states of California, Hawaii and the U.S. territory of Guam.
Equally active on the state and local levels, Chee simultaneously served as president of the Hawaii Association of REALTORS® and the Honolulu Board of REALTORS® in 1976. During that year, he was honored as REALTOR® of the Year by the state association. In 1991, the Honolulu Board named him REALTOR® of the Year.
Chee is also a trustee of the University of Hawaii Foundation.
