The proposed Continuing Resolution that temporarily avoids a government shutdown extends the EB-5 Regional Center Program through December 11, 2015. Government funding legislation must be passed by both the House and Senate by September 30, 2015, the end of the federal fiscal year, which coincides with the deadline for EB-5 reauthorization.
NAR is part of a coalition that is advocating for reauthorization and reform of the EB-5 program. The EB-5 Regional Center Program allows overseas investors to earn a green card if they invest at least $500,000 and create 10 non-temporary jobs. This coalition will be working to get this passed in the Senate and House to prevent a govt. shutdown and reauthorize the program.
