ANAHEIM, Calif. (November 16, 2023) – Mike McGrew, a Realtor® from Lawrence, Kansas, received the National Association of Realtors®' 2023 Distinguished Service Award. NAR presents this honor annually to a maximum of two of its more than 1.5 million members. This year, two winners were recognized during the 2023 NAR NXT, The REALTOR® Experience in Anaheim, California.

NAR established the award in 1979 to honor Realtors® who have made outstanding contributions to the real estate industry and serve as leaders in their local communities. It is considered the highest honor an NAR member can receive. Recipients must be active at the local, state and national association levels, but must not have served as NAR president.

"Mike's commitment to every level of our association and his charitable work epitomizes the Distinguished Service Award," said NAR President Tracy Kasper, a Realtor® from Nampa, Idaho, and broker-owner of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Silverhawk Realty. "It's my privilege to honor Mike with this award for his immeasurable community impact and service to the real estate industry in Kansas and beyond."

McGrew has been a Realtor® for more than 30 years and is CEO and Chairman of McGrew Real Estate in Lawrence, Kansas.

"I'm very honored to be named a 2023 DSA with my good friend and fellow award winner, Greg Herb, and it's humbling to be associated with all of the amazing DSAs with whom I've known and worked at NAR," said McGrew. "I'm so proud of my Realtor® family and will do my very best to continue to represent them at the highest level, as exemplified by my DSA sisters and brothers."

McGrew has held numerous association leadership positions for 27 years, including serving as the current president of the REALTORS® Relief Foundation and the 2014–2016 NAR treasurer. A member of NAR's Board of Directors since 2000, he served as 2003 Region 9 vice president, which encompasses Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. McGrew was a member of Sentrilock's Board of Directors.

McGrew has been a Federal Political Coordinator since 2005 and was inducted into the Realtors® Political Action Committee Hall of Fame in 2009 and the Hall of Fame's third level in 2022.

In 1998, McGrew served as president of the Kansas Association of Realtors® and was selected as the association's Realtor® of the Year in 2000.

Active in his local community, McGrew has served more than a decade on the Lawrence and Douglas County Economic Development Corporation. He has been a member of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors for eight years and was its chairman in 2014. McGrew also served as a Trustee of the Douglas County Community Foundation for eight years.

The National Association of Realtors® is America's largest trade association, representing more than 1.5 million members involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries. The term Realtor® is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of Realtors® and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics.
