ANAHEIM, Calif. (November 16, 2023) – Greg Herb, a Realtor® from Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania, received the National Association of Realtors®' 2023 Distinguished Service Award. NAR presents this honor annually to a maximum of two of its more than 1.5 million members. This year, two winners were recognized during the 2023 NAR NXT, The REALTOR® Experience in Anaheim, California.

NAR established the award in 1979 to honor Realtors® who have made outstanding contributions to the real estate industry and who serve as leaders in their local communities. It is considered the highest honor an NAR member can receive. Recipients must be active at the local, state and national association levels, but must not have served as NAR president.

"It's extremely gratifying to present Greg with the Distinguished Service Award for his devotion to our association and profession," said NAR President Tracy Kasper, a Realtor® from Nampa, Idaho, and broker-owner of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Silverhawk Realty. "Greg has had a tremendous impact on the real estate industry through his trailblazing accomplishments and selfless service to his fellow Realtors® in Pennsylvania and nationwide."

Herb has been a real estate professional for more than four decades and is currently a broker and President of Herb Real Estate Inc. in Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania.

"I am truly humbled to receive this honor and have been blessed to serve my industry and community doing what I love," said Herb. "I am grateful to those who provided me with these opportunities and placed their trust in me. It's an honor to join the DSAs, and I look forward to continuing my service."

Herb has held several leadership positions within the association, including serving as 2010 Region 2 vice president, which encompasses New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. A member of NAR's Board of Directors since 1999, he chaired or served on numerous work groups and committees, including RPAC Fundraising Trustees, RPAC Major Donor Council, Federal Housing, Risk Management, Business Issues and Institute, Consumer Advocacy Outreach Board and Affiliate Advisory Board.

In 2009, Herb served as president of the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors® and was selected as the association's Realtor® of the Year in 2010. In 2012, he received the state association's Realtor® Active in Politics Award.

Herb is active in his local community, where he has served on the Board of Directors for the YMCA; The United Way; AMBUCS, an organization dedicated to helping people with disabilities; and the Boy Scouts of America, Hawk Mountain Council, where he received the Silver Beaver Award. He is a founding member and president of the Foundation for Boyertown Education, a nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization. In 2021, he received the Tri-County Suburban Realtors®' Community Service Award for his work with the foundation, which received a $10,000 grant.

The National Association of Realtors® is America's largest trade association, representing more than 1.5 million members involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries. The term Realtor® is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of Realtors® and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics.
