The National Association of REALTORS® today announced the appointment of a key executive—one likely to usher in significant change in how many members experience the association.

Elizabeth Ranno joins NAR as senior vice president of education & events beginning May 5. Ranno brings a track record of transforming organizations through digital innovation. She has developed sustainable cloud-based product models in real estate and education, as well as for member associations.

“Elizabeth offers a rare and extremely valuable combination of in-depth knowledge of the real estate industry, a passion for education and training, and a sharp business acumen,” says NAR CEO Nykia Wright.

Driving Excellence in Professional Development

In her new role, Ranno will oversee NAR’s education initiatives and major events, including the association’s designation and certification programs, as well as planning for the REALTORS® Legislative Meetings and NAR NXT: The REALTOR® Experience. Her appointment marks a significant step forward in NAR’s commitment to excellence in real estate education and professional development.

Wright has called education a key strategic focus for NAR going forward, along with advocacy, research and technology. In education, that focus means enhancing member engagement and delivering high-quality educational experiences.

“I’ve spent my career at the intersection of real estate, technology, and education—building tools and experiences that empower professionals to thrive in a constantly evolving market. I’m excited to bring that passion to NAR and help deliver learning opportunities and events that are more engaging, practical and valuable for our members,” said Ranno.

Leading Revenue Growth

Ranno joins NAR from property management software provider RealPage, where she served as vice president of product management. During her tenure at RealPage, Ranno successfully developed and executed product vision and strategy for a $304 million business unit, driving significant revenue growth and business transformation.

Prior to her role at RealPage, Ranno was vice president for LEAP Innovations, a Chicago-based nonprofit organization focused on tailored education and training experiences for students. At LEAP, Ranno led a cross-functional team that launched a tech-enabled education content suite. She was instrumental in the development of an educational business model that reduced dependence on philanthropic funding.

In other roles, Ranno served as vice president of product management for ISACA, an IT governance member association; vice president of product and planning for the American Health Information Management Association; and chief product officer for the Professional Education Institute’s Real Estate Education and Training Events unit. She transformed PEI’s $100 million real estate education business into an online platform, successfully expanding into global market events and more than doubling the Institute’s product margin.

“[Ranno] not only understands how to create content that resonates with our members, but she also knows how to build sustainable revenue streams to support long-term growth,” Wright says. “We’re excited for her to lead the next chapter of innovation in our education and events programming.”
