The National Association of REALTORS®’ MLS Technology and Emerging Issues Advisory Board met Friday for the second time in seven weeks to discuss next steps for the organization’s evaluation of NAR’s Clear Cooperation Policy.

The advisory board, which is composed of MLS and broker executives, did not make a recommendation or take any other formal action. As a next critical step, the advisory board will submit the feedback it has received to NAR's leadership, which will then incorporate the insights into other feedback already received through various avenues. Looking forward, NAR will continue to evaluate the policy within the context of the broader issues affecting the organization and industry.

The advisory board’s decision acknowledges that any changes to the MLS policy require a careful process to weigh feedback from a wide range of members, stakeholders and industry experts while considering ongoing litigation and a Department of Justice investigation, NAR says. Accordingly, the association says it must evaluate the Clear Cooperation Policy with particular sensitivity.
