April commences the peak of the traditional homebuying season, a fitting time to commemorate the passage of the Fair Housing Act of 1968. The legislation, which set a precedent of antibias and non-discrimination, is commemorated each April, Fair Housing Month.

Join the National Association of REALTORS® on Thursday, April 10, 1 p.m. ET, for its livestreamed Fair Housing Forward event. A panel of experts will discuss the racial wealth gap and the future of fair housing and technology. National news anchor and network reporter Mariana Atencio emcees the event.

“Fair Housing Forward” features award-winning authors Louise Story and Ebony Reed, for a discussion of their book Fifteen Cents on the Dollar. Then, freelance journalist Michele Lerner moderates a segment on ongoing fair housing challenges, including algorithmic bias and how technologies like AI will come into play. The discussion features Kristen Klurfield, senior policy analyst for the Housing and Bipartisan Policy Center; Ondrej Linda, senior director of AI and engineering for Zillow; and Dr. Nicol Turner Lee, senior fellow and director for the Center for Technology Innovation at the Brookings Institution.

You’ll also hear from NAR President Kevin Sears—and be there for the announcement of the 2025 Fair Housing Champions—three NAR members dedicated to promoting and upholding equal housing opportunity and expanding homeownership.
