Members of the National Association of REALTORS® can expect the organization to govern itself with “extreme accountability” in 2025, NAR CEO Nykia Wright said Tuesday in a fireside chat with Ryan McLaughlin, CEO of the Northern Virginia Association of REALTORS®.
Speaking to nearly 2,000 members at NVAR’s annual conference, INSPIRE24, Wright said that the decisions NAR makes aim to protect consumers in the real estate transaction, help members get to their next successful deal and navigate regulatory reforms. NAR will continue to refine its business model to meet that objective and hold itself accountable in doing so.
Wright is focusing on the NAR member experience, responding to feedback that members often engage with the association in silos. Part of this work includes recognizing that NAR constituents have different needs, she said, and building member profiles to better reflect their diverse experiences will enable NAR to meet members where they are.
“A competitive advantage is listening,” Wright said, referencing the 1.5 million members NAR engages with. “We use that listening framework to help understand where we need to go. We are trying to help people get to the next successful transaction.”
Ultimately, Wright said, the most important thing is trust, and NAR is doing all it can to earn members’ trust and work in their best interests.
