The MLS Technology and Emerging Issues Advisory Board discussed the Clear Cooperation Policy during a regularly scheduled meeting that wrapped up Friday.
The advisory board, comprised of MLS and broker executives, intends to reconvene in October to consider the rule further.
The Clear Cooperation Policy requires listing brokers to upload their publicly marketed listings within one business day to an MLS. The policy aims to promote healthy competition in the market.
The advisory board also reviewed feedback and proposals regarding the optional no-comingling rule and the brokerage back-office feed.
This week’s meeting included robust discussion and input from stakeholders, which is the standard process for reviewing potential MLS policy changes. The advisory board weighed a wide range of perspectives, including buyers, sellers and real estate professionals, as well as fair housing principles. Members of the NAR leadership team joined the meeting as guests.
NAR says it relies on the vast experience of its board and committee members and continues to gather their feedback.
