Goal Digger
Shari Anhorn, 28, CRS, GRI, grew up on a dairy farm in rural North Dakota where her mother stressed the importance of education. She graduated from high school with honors and a two-year-old son and won a scholarship to Minnesota State University, Moorhead. With her son in tow, she worked her way through college, turning gratefully to government assistance to get through. “I’m a ‘goal digger,’ ” she says, “always striving to better myself while helping others.” When Anhorn graduated in 2009, jobs were slim in her field of graphic design, so she took a position as a marketing assistant for an agent. They worked so well together that Anhorn got her license, and they created a two-person sales team. In short order, she obtained her broker’s license and became an owner within her company. Today, she’s also vice president--secretary of the Minot Board of REALTORS®.
