Iron Sharpens Iron
While Juan Barreneche, 29, was pulling an all-nighter as a premed student, he had an epiphany that illuminated his future in real estate. He took out a piece of paper and wrote down the two things he wanted most in life: 1. To help others; 2. To become financially secure. He made the leap and found that the intellectual discipline of his intended career path paid dividends when he switched over.
“Through that science background, I learned how complex systems work together,” he says. “I put that same level of research into my business to create sales and marketing systems.”
A firm believer in cooperation and collaboration to move the industry forward, Barreneche shares his successful sales systems with his agents. He’s also created an online education platform so that agents all over the country can benefit from his knowledge and experience, regardless of broker affiliation. He’s served as the youngest chapter president for the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals as well as the youngest member on the board of directors for his local Young Professionals Network and state association.
In his community, Barreneche has worked with local banks to offer real estate education seminars. The son of Colombian immigrants, Barraneche hopes one day to have his education platform translated into Spanish so he can reach even more people: “I want to share my strategies so that everyone can grow their business.”
