An Expert in Firsts

Jorge Perez, 28, is an exemplar of firsts. He’s a part of the first generation of his family to be born in the U.S. He was the first to leave home to go to college. And he was the first in his family to pursue a career in real estate. “I’d always been interested in real estate but, when I was young, didn’t realize it could be a career. I went to college and studied entrepreneurship. I had an internship with a real estate firm that was supposed to be 12 weeks but lasted for 15 because I loved it so much.” The rest, he says, is history.

He takes his personal firsts into his business, using his knowledge to guide his niche clients—first-time home buyers and relocators. It’s important for him to be an expert when it comes to helping them navigate the market.

“If I don’t consider myself an expert, I’m not going to dabble.” Perez says he values expertise, because it mitigates many would-be issues, and it gives him the ability to confidently walk his clients through every step of the process. He’s keen on helping his clients find the best housing option to suit their needs and dispelling any myths about his corner of the South Florida market.

“Transparency and honesty are super important. Buying or selling a home is such a huge investment. I really want the best for my clients, which means I have to have the proof to back up what I say I’m an expert in.”
