Community Minded, Honesty Driven
Brandon Shaw, 29, was brought up by parents who taught him to give without expectation. Though he always wanted to be in business, Shaw found out pretty quickly that the corporate world didn’t offer the flexibility he needed to make a difference. An agent friend convinced him to give real estate a try. “I knew right away that this was where I was supposed to be. The opportunities out there to help others are endless. Real estate opened the door so that I can invest in my community.”
Shaw’s investment comes in the form of both time and money. He’s a volunteer EMT and firefighter, he recently opened a laundromat in his hometown, and he’s been investing in the revitalization of Columbus’s downtown.
The community thrives, he says, when individuals take an honest, intentional interest in its well-being.
Shaw’s legacy may be helping others see how far a hard-working individual can rise. “I didn’t necessarily have a lot growing up. Not much was handed to me. We had what we needed, but my parents worked hard. That’s my why: my family, my kids and my community.”
