Since 2000, REALTOR® Magazine has recognized the young members of the National Association of REALTORS® who are doing extraordinary things in their businesses, associations and communities across the country. The character of the 2023 class of 30 Under 30 can be summed up in two words: bold entrepreneurs.
Some members of this year’s class have taken great leaps to make it in the industry. They left successful careers to work on food trucks or other part-time jobs while they pursued their dreams in real estate. They are relationship builders, barrier breakers, and believers in the American dream. Many are working with clients who never imagined they could attain homeownership, and these real estate pros are showing them how owning a home can help families for generations.
This class walks a different path than many of the 30 Under 30 honorees who have come before them. They’re forgoing platforms like Facebook in exchange for door knocking. When they are on social media, they’re communicating with their clients through videos on YouTube or TikTok.
Approximately 300 young real estate practitioners applied for 30 Under 30 this year. In early March, a panel of judges narrowed the field to 50 finalists. Then, from March 24–31, members of the public cast a total of 57,881 votes during the weeklong Web Choice Award voting period. With 5,277 votes, Kelly Carlson with Engel & Völkers in Chicago, emerged at the top as the Web Choice winner, solidifying her place in the 30 Under 30 class. The other 29 honorees were selected from the group of finalists by the judges. Learn more about all 30 young professionals on June 26, when their full profiles are published in a special digital edition of REALTOR® Magazine, which you’ll find on the 30 Under 30 homepage.
