Joanne Breen (GRI, AHWD, C2EX) has been a REALTOR® for over 40 years in central Connecticut and the shoreline, and a licensed broker since 1987. For 27 years, Joanne was co-owner and managing partner for ERA Sargis-Breen Real Estate until she sold the business in 2020. Under the new entity, ERA Hart Sargis-Breen, she remains as an associate broker.

During her tenure as broker-owner, she was awarded the ERA Jim Jackson Customer Satisfaction Award three times, and in 2012, her company was one of the first to be inducted in the ERA Hall of Fame. Most recently, Joanne was an ERA Leaders’ Circle honoree for closing more than $10 million in sales volume in 2021.

At NAR, Joanne is on the 2024 Executive Committee having served as 2023 Regional Vice President for Region 1 (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont). She is also a Director, a member of NAR’s Safety Advisory Committee, and has also served on NAR’s Diversity and Business Issue Policies committees.

At the Connecticut REALTORS®, Joanne currently serves as Legislative Committee Chair. In 2021, she was named REALTOR® of the Year; she served as state President in 2020. Joanne also serves on the SmartMLS Board of Directors.

At the Greater Harford Association of REALTORS®, she was named REALTOR® of the Year in 2018 and served as president in 2016.

A focus of both presidencies and her ongoing work has been fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion among the members and leadership. As Connecticut REALTORS® president, her team established a DEI committee and created a mandatory continuing education course called “Understanding and Preventing Racial Bias.”

Joanne says DEI and advocacy work, as well as mentoring agents, is one of her greatest professional rewards.
