Relationships are essential to career success for any real estate professional, but especially critical for CIPS designees working in a global market. Here are some ways to build connections and use your CIPS network to its fullest potential.

Join the private Facebook page

CIPS designees have access to the Official Group: NAR CIPS Designees, a private Facebook page for CIPS designees facilitating referral and knowledge exchange. Log into your Facebook, search for the group name, and request to join. Your request should be approved within one week.

Attend exclusive, in-person events

Join fellow CIPS designees for networking and referrals at CIPS exclusive events such as the CIPS Advisory Board Meeting (May 2, 2022, at 9:30 a.m.) and the CIPS Networking and Celebration event on May 3, 2022, tickets required.

Add your profile to the CIPS Directory

Help referring agents and consumers find you with a featured profile in the CIPS Directory. Please email a copy of your photo to CIPS@nar.realtor. The photo must be in a jpg format, 300 DPI. Visit bit.ly/CIPSPROFILEFORM and fill out the form to update your biography.

Explore the CIPS Directory

Make connections with mentors and fellow CIPS designees by accessing the directory at nar.realtor/cips-search.

Don’t sit back and wait for business to come to you. The CIPS network will serve you well only if you are willing to do the legwork. As a general rule of thumb, you must give in order to receive. It is unlikely you will receive referrals if you are not actively engaged or using the network to give referrals.

Find a Global Business Council

As a CIPS designee, your connection to global real estate transactions may start at a local level. In fact, some reports* show that 58% of international purchases are made by resident foreigners,  which are non-US citizens who are recent immigrants or temporary visa holders. In other words, these buyers are already living in your area but need a REALTOR® with specialized skills to help them navigate their first real estate transaction. Roughly 140 state and local REALTOR® associations have built independent Global Business Councils. They offer a selection of programs focused on enhancing members’ global opportunities, including informal learning sessions, networking events, and more. Find one near you by visiting nar.realtor/global/global-businesscouncils/global-business-councils-directory.
