Showings up 7% Y/Y in October
October 2024 U.S. showings were up 7% year-over-year, with 688,096 showings, according to data from SentriLock, LLC., a lockbox company. The pace of showing activity has declined compared to last month, September 2024.
SentriLock Cards Declined 3% Y/Y
Total U.S. SentriLock cards fell 3% year-over-year to 226,151. SentriLock cards, comprised of SentriKey® and SentriCard®, allow REALTORS® to access the Sentrilock® lockbox and are an indicator of the number of REALTORS® who conduct the showing.
Showings Per Card Showed Rose 11% Y/Y
The number of showings per card reflects the strength of buyer interest per listed property. At a national level, showings per card increased 11% year-over-year in October.
Three of the Four Regions Saw Y/Y Showings Increase
Three of the four regions saw an increase in showings on a year-over-year basis in October: The Northeast had the biggest gain (24%), followed by the West (12%). The South had an increase of (7%) followed by the Midwest region, which was flat (0%).
Y/Y SentriLock Cards Decreased In All Four Regions
Cards on a y/y basis were down in the West (-4%) and the Midwest (-3%). The South fell (-2%) followed by the Northeast (-1% ) with the smallest decline.
Showings Per Card Increased in All Four Regions On A Y/Y Basis
All four regions saw a year-over-year increase in showings per card in October. The Northeast had the biggest increase (24%), followed by the West (16%). The South rose by (10%) and the Midwest region increased (4%).
