Dennis R. Cronk was President of the National Association of REALTORS® in 2000.

He is a broker/owner with the firm of Waldvogel, Poe and Cronk Real Estate Group, Inc., a full service residential and commercial real estate brokerage and management firm headquartered in Roanoke, Virginia. A REALTOR® for 25 years, he holds a number of professional designations representing various disciplines within the real estate profession. These designations include Certified Commercial-Investment Member (CCIM); Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS); Counselor of Real Estate (CRE); Certified Residential Specialist (CRS); and Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI). As a consultant or investor, he has developed a wide range of commercial, industrial and residential projects. His professional service includes leadership roles with numerous organizations and industry groups, including the Fannie Mae National Advisory Council, the National Real Estate Roundtable, the National Housing Coalition, the US-China Residential Building Council, and the City of Roanoke Industrial Development Authority.

Mr. Cronk has served NAR in a wide range of leadership positions including his role in 1996, of the Association's negotiating team formed to rescue the Realtors Information Network (RIN), and its primary asset realtor.com®. The results of which were the formation of RealSelect, Inc. and Homestore.com, Inc. (formerly NetSelect, Inc.) of Los Angeles, California to operate, develop, expand, and promote the Association's official Internet website at realtor.com®. Cronk was a founder member of the RealSelect, Inc. Board of Directors and worked closely with management in the development of the company prior to assuming the office of NAR President.

Mr. Cronk is a multi-year Life Member of RPAC, and an RPAC "Golden R". As an NAR Director since 1981, he has served in various leadership positions including chairman of numerous NAR committees. He has also served on the NAR Leadership Team since 1996. As an internationally known speaker, Cronk has lectured on many real estate topics throughout America, Asia, and Europe. In the spring of 1999, Cronk served as chairman of an international trade delegation to People's Republic of China on behalf of the National Committee on U.S. and China Relations and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. The trade mission provided the opportunity to share his expertise in the real estate profession with the emerging Chinese real estate market. Cronk subsequently received an appointment by the Clinton Administration to serve as a member of the US-China Residential Building Council.

Cronk is a past president of the Virginia Association of REALTORS® and the Virginia Real Estate Education Foundation. In 1994, he was named the state's association's "REALTOR® of the Year". In 1984, Cronk served as president of the Roanoke Valley Association of REALTORS® and is the recipient of their association's "REALTOR® of the Year" award.
