Dave Legaz (e-PRO®, C2EX, AHWD, RSPS, ABR, CIPS, CRS, GRI, SRES) is CEO of the Legaz Team at Keller Williams Realty Landmark in New York City. The Legaz Team has established itself as one of the leading real estate teams in New York City and Long Island, steadfastly upholding the values of honesty and integrity as their guiding principles. Dave is also a partner in two Keller Williams Realty offices, and a broker in one.
With a distinguished career in the NYPD, Dave leverages two decades of law enforcement experience and more than 25 years of real estate practice to educate REALTORS® on how they can safeguard themselves against predatory behavior—including robbery, assault, and sexual violence. He also co-authored the agent safety book, “Safe Selling: A Practical Guide for Preventing Crime without Sacrificing the Sale.”
In 2024, Dave was NAR's Broker Relations Liaison and since 2013, he has served as an NAR Director. Notably, in 2019, as a graduate of the NAR Leadership Academy, he advocated for the creation of a REALTOR® Safety Advisory Committee, becoming its first chairperson in 2020. Dave also holds the roles of Education Chairperson and Board Member of the Beverly Carter Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to improving agent safety.
At the state and local levels, Dave served as the 2021 president of the NYS Association of REALTORS® (NYSAR), 2017 president of the Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR), and 2014 LIBOR REALTOR® of the Year. He has been a NYSAR director since 2012.
Dave retired as an NYPD sergeant in 2002 after serving as a first responder at the World Trade Center on 9/11, where he tragically lost his partner. His unwavering commitment to saving lives, rooted in his service as a member of New York’s Finest, continues to shape his work today.
