Cheer up your staging with some sunny design trends that can offer an inviting feel to your properties in the warmer months. Home Staging Resource stagers offer a few tips:

Fresh cut flowers and greenery

Shannon Ries in Northern Virginia uses the fresh cut greenery for an amazing kitchen island display. I particularly love how she layered the height of the centerpiece to cleverly showcase the home’s high ceilings.

Michelle Middel of Michelle Middel Décor uses faux greenery to bring summer to a coffee table display. Yes, the faux greenery of today is incredibly different from that of yesteryear! In fact, there are so many wonderful sources available for stagers to use in adding greenery in their homes.

Here’s another photo of her display...

I love how Michelle truly merchandised this space for buyers!

Pops of yellow (the color of sunshine!)

Yellow is playing more of a role in our staging this summer since we long for sunshine!  Yellow is easy on the budget because a little bit can go a long way in a space. There’s something about this color that brings a smile to our faces so I couldn’t resist showcasing the different ways stagers are using it this summer.

Below, Mallory Johnson of Nine Elements Design uses it to draw the eye around a gorgeous kitchen space…

Yep, she even combines the two trends above by using fresh cut yellow flowers as a centerpiece under the stove.

Below Mallory brightens up a living space with a yellow throw, pillows, and flowers.

Heather Odean of Karis Home Solutions pairs summer yellow with gray to warm up a living room and add lightness to an otherwise darker space:

Your summer beach bag

A well-placed summer beach bag filled with pool or beach essentials is a wonderful merchandising strategy that stagers use in certain spaces. It’s very budget friendly and reminds buyers of the carefree lifestyle we all long for.

Below are two examples of how Corrine McKendrick of Pacific Home Design uses this strategy in her staging…

Perfectly placed to fill an otherwise empty wall by the back kitchen door, this area serves as a mini-mudroom area.

Below, Corrine uses it in an entry area to stage an entry table and evoke feelings of summer beach fun.

These simple yet powerful summer staging strategies can work in your listings to put a freshness in the space and a smile on buyers’ faces.  Cheers to your summer home!
