Home showings in June 2020 showed a strong rebound from the level in May, according to data from SentriLock®, LLC, a lockbox company.

  • For the first time since the showings plummeted due to the coronavirus pandemic, showings were up on a year-over-year basis in the South and Midwest regions, at 2% and 3% respectively.
  • Showings in the Northeast were down by 4% but this is a strong recovery compared to the decline in May (-46%). The West region had the largest decline, at 13%, but this is also a smaller decline compared to the rate of decline in May (-28%).
  • Overall, home showings were down by 4% in June 2020 from year-ago levels, but this is a smaller decline compared to the 20% decline in May 2020.
  • The diffusion index increased from prior month levels as it currently stands at 32.9, with 32.9% of roughly 200 MLSs boards reporting a year-over-year increase in showings with Sentrilock® lockboxes.
